JENOPTIK Laser, Optik, Systeme GmbH and the Hilti Shareholder Company (Hilti) located in Schaan in the principality of Liechtenstein have founded a joint company that now trades under the name of HILLOS GmbH (HILLOS). Hilti and Jenoptik will thus continue their previous manufacturing partnership in the field of laser distance measuring instruments, which is to be extended by a line of positioning products.
Hilti and Jenoptik have enjoyed a successful partnership for the research, development and production of laser distance measuring instruments since May 2002.

HILLOS is to manufacture products for building and related applications exclusively for Hilti, providing Jenoptik with the manufacturing know-how that is needed to support Jenoptik's OEM business. R&D efforts for new laser engineering applications will be further encouraged under the two companies' valid teamwork agreement for research and development.

The new joint venture benefits from an established manufacturing infrastructure and extensive know-how in Jena, combining assets, such as the skills of its two proprietors, in the best possible way.
